Your profile and privacy

Everything about you is under Settings. To get there, select the … beside your name at the foot of the sidebar, then Settings. On a phone, tap your photo in the tab bar, then Settings.

Under Settings > Profile, select Upload photo (or Change photo if you have one) and pick any image, including a photo straight off an iPhone. You can also drag one onto the page. It saves the moment you pick it, so there’s nothing else to select.

To take it off, select Remove. Folke asks first, then shows your initial in its place.

  • Full Name, Email Address and Job Title. Changing your email address asks for your current password.
  • Country, plus a region where bank holidays differ by region: Nation in the UK, State in the US, and so on.
  • Date of Birth.

Everything but Job Title is required. Select Save Profile when you’re done.

Your country and region decide which bank holidays you get, so update them if you move. Your organisation also needs to have added your country’s bank holidays. If yours aren’t showing, ask your admin.

Whether your team sees your birthday is always your choice.

  • Teammates only ever see the day and month, never the year.
  • Org admins can see your full date of birth on your team profile, and change it.
  • Turn off Show my birthday (day and month only) to teammates and it’s hidden everywhere, including the calendar, Moments and Slack. You’ll still get your own happy birthday email from Folke; nobody else hears about it.

Settings > Organisation shows what your admin has set up for you. Selecting your organisation’s logo or name in the sidebar opens it too.

  • Team Role and Joined, the date you started and how long you’ve been there
  • Leave Year, the dates your allowance runs over
  • Organisation Limit and Role Limit, how many team members can be off at once
  • a table of each leave type with its Allowance, Used, Pending, Notice and Remaining

You can’t change these yourself. If something looks wrong, ask your admin. Your allowance explains where the numbers come from, and what’s left is there to be used.

Settings > Preferences has three switches, all on to start with:

  • Show country flags next to names. On Windows, flags show as two letters, since Windows has no flag pictures.
  • Show new updates in a box in the corner, the What’s new box that appears when something in Folke changes (on a phone it slides up from the bottom). Every update stays under What’s new at the bottom of every page either way.
  • Ask me every now and then for feedback, a short rating window. It only appears just after something has gone well, like booking leave, and never in your first month.

Select Save Preferences when you’re done.

To see your leave in your own calendar app, use Settings > Calendar: see Seeing leave in your calendar.
