Days you can't pick
Tap a greyed-out day on the request form, or hover over it on a computer, and Folke tells you why you can’t pick it. A day that’s both a bank holiday and a closure, say, lists both.
What the notes mean
Section titled “What the notes mean”- Bank Holiday - (name): a bank holiday where you are. It’s already a day off, so it costs nothing.
- Closure - (name): the company is closed that day, on the house.
- No-leave date - (name): your organisation has asked for no leave then. See No-leave dates below.
- Within notice period: this leave type needs booking further ahead. Notice is counted in calendar days from today, weekends included, and the days inside it are hatched. Each leave type has its own notice period.
- No allowance left this leave year: you’ve used or requested all of this type for that leave year. Other years stay open.
- Beyond your remaining allowance: shows after your first tap, on days your range can’t reach with what you have left. A range over the end of a leave year uses each year’s own days, so you can run into next year’s allowance.
- Further ahead than your organisation lets you book: past the last leave year you can book into. Your organisation decides how many years ahead that is.
- You’ve already booked this day or You’ve already asked for this day: you have approved leave, or a request still waiting, on that day. Change or cancel it on My Leave first.
- Non-working day: a day you don’t work, weekends included unless you work them. Without working days of your own, that’s Saturday and Sunday. An org admin sets your working days, so ask one if they’re wrong.
- In the past: the day has gone.
Past days are struck through and can’t be picked.
No-leave dates
Section titled “No-leave dates”Your organisation can set a no-leave date to block booking, or only to warn:
- One that blocks can’t be the first or last day of your leave. Your range can still run across it, and those days cost nothing.
- One that only warns can be picked, and it costs a day as usual. The details say “No-leave date - may not be approved”, so it’s down to whoever approves your request.
A no-leave date can apply to some leave types only, so changing the type can change which days are greyed out.
The key
Section titled “The key”Select Key above the calendar to see what each colour and mark means. It only lists the kinds of day in the months you’re looking at.
If you need the day anyway
Section titled “If you need the day anyway”Talk to an org admin. They can book leave for you without the notice, no-leave, allowance, how-far-ahead or past-date rules.
Running out of allowance this year doesn’t stop you planning next year’s break: next year’s dates have next year’s allowance, as far ahead as your organisation lets you book.
