Finding your way around
What you see depends on your permission level, so some of this only appears for managers and admins. See Who can do what.
On a computer
Section titled “On a computer”The sidebar on the left has:
- Home, your dashboard
- Calendar, for who’s off and when
- Moments and Rota, on Pro
- My Leave, your requests and allowance
- New Request, to book time off
Under your organisation’s name there’s a second list:
- Requests, for anyone who approves leave
- Team, Dates, Analytics, Billing and Settings, for org admins
On Basic, org admins still see Moments, Rota and Analytics so they know they’re there. Those need Pro, so on Basic each page says it comes with Pro, with a See plans button that goes to Billing. See Plans and billing.
If you don’t approve leave, your organisation’s logo sits beside the Folke logo at the top and opens Settings > Organisation. For everyone else, the organisation’s name above the second list does the same.
At the foot is your name card. Select … on it for Settings and Sign out. On Pro it also shows your status for the day, which you can select to set your working week.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”The tab bar along the bottom has:
- Home
- Calendar
- Requests if you approve leave, or Moments on Pro for everyone else
- My Leave
- your photo, which opens a menu of all your pages, then Working week (on Pro), Install app (until Folke is installed), Settings and Sign out
Across the top:
- The + on the left books time off. For org admins it opens a short menu of Leave Request, Team Member and Date.
- Your organisation’s logo on the right opens its pages, like Requests and Team, if you approve leave or run the organisation. For everyone else it opens Settings > Organisation.
Both bars tuck away as you scroll down a page and come back as you scroll up.
Two kinds of Settings
Section titled “Two kinds of Settings”- Settings is yours: Profile, Organisation, Calendar, Preferences, Notifications and Security. Everyone has it.
- Organisation Settings runs the whole organisation, from leave types to bank holidays and team roles, and is for org admins. It’s the Settings link in the organisation part of the sidebar.
These help pages always use those two names, so it’s clear which one we mean.
Dots, not numbers
Section titled “Dots, not numbers”A small dot beside a page means there’s something to look at:
- My Leave lights up when one of your requests has been approved, turned down or cancelled, and goes out when you open it.
- Requests stays lit while anything is waiting for you to decide.
The dots never show a number, so there’s nothing to clear or feel behind on. On a phone, a dot on your photo means it’s on a page in the menu behind it.
The footer
Section titled “The footer”At the foot of every page:
- What’s new, when there are notes for you, with a green dot when there’s one you haven’t read. New updates also appear in a box in the corner, or a sheet on a phone. Don’t show again stops that, and you can turn it back on under Settings > Preferences.
- Help opens these pages. Our email, hey@myfolke.com, is at the foot of every one.
- Privacy, Terms and Cookies.
When you’re offline
Section titled “When you’re offline”If your connection drops, a bar across the top says “You’re offline. Folke needs a connection to load anything new.” Select Try again once you’re back online.
